About us

Built by professional investors for rising public companies.

Kindling is not a directory and not a service provider. It is a platform created by investors who actively put capital to work in small and micro‑cap public companies — built to give companies a clear path to greater institutional ownership and higher valuations, and to give institutions companies worth owning.

Who we are

Professional investors, investing. The platform came out of that work.

Our work is in the part of the market most people step over: listed companies too small for the analysts, too illiquid for the large funds, and too invisible for most to analyse and argue about. We have put our own capital into these companies for years, and we still do.

Kindling is in Alpha. While it is, the investors and organizations behind it stay unnamed — the work should speak first. When the platform opens fully, the many powerful organizations behind it will be shared.

There is nothing else like this: a platform defined by the people who write the checks, for the companies that deserve them.

What companies gain

A clear path to institutional ownership — not a mystery to reverse‑engineer.

Good companies go without the visibility, volume and valuation they deserve for reasons that have nothing to do with the business: nobody covering them, little that is legible to read, a thin register, and no feedback on any of it.

Kindling measures a company against the criteria institutions actually apply, tells it plainly what to address, and gives it the path to address it. Companies that do the work end up owned — and valued — differently.

What investors gain

The investability question, answered before the page is opened.

Long before an investor reaches the question that matters — whether this is a good investment — they have spent weeks on a much duller one: whether it is even investable. Register, governance, disclosure quality, related parties, the balance sheet, whether the filings survive being read closely.

On most companies the answer is no, and the work that produced it is thrown away. On Kindling, that work is finished before a company appears at all.

What we are trying to do

Solve both halves, or neither is worth solving.

For companies

A clear path. We measure how a company reads against the criteria institutions actually apply, say plainly what stands between it and institutional ownership, and make introductions once the work has been done. Visibility, volume, valuation — in that order, because that is the order they arrive in.

For investors

A platform of companies that are already investable, with the early heavy lifting finished. The screening that normally consumes the first weeks of diligence has happened before you open the page. Our aim is to have the top 200 institutional investors in small companies on the platform.

For the market between them

Kindling connects good companies with smart capital. That is the whole of the ambition, and everything in the product is in service of it.

What Kindling is not

We make no investment recommendations.

We are investors running a platform for investors, so this is the first thing a reader is owed rather than the last.

  • We make no recommendation to invest in anything on this platform
  • We are not a broker, dealer, finder, or investment adviser
  • We take no transaction‑based compensation and run no capital raises
  • A company's score is produced independently of anything it pays for

Kindling is for information purposes only. A company reaching the platform has cleared our bar for being investable — a statement about the quality of the business and how legibly it is presented, not a view on its price, and never a suggestion to buy it. We put our own money to work in this market. We do not tell anyone else where to put theirs.

In Alpha now — access by invitation

Both sides of this are worth fixing. We have started.

Companies are being invited from our own screening, and the first investors are on the platform. Tell us which side you are on and we will be in touch as Kindling opens up.
